Legal & Governance
Terms of Service
Effective Date: October 2, 2026 · Version 1.0.0
1. Purpose and Relationship
Echoes is a sovereign personal memory archive and multimodal research system designed to organize, preserve, and query personal artifacts. By creating an account or accessing the service, you agree to these Terms of Service.
2. Ownership and Sovereignty
You retain 100% intellectual property ownership of all recordings, photographs, manuscripts, transcripts, and personal annotations you upload to Echoes. Echoes claims no copyright, training license, or proprietary claim over your memory data.
3. User Responsibilities & Acceptable Use
You agree to preserve only materials you have lawful rights to possess and archive. You must not use Echoes to store unlawful materials, distribute unauthorized surveillance recordings, or attempt to bypass cryptographic tenant barriers.
4. Multimodal AI Grounding & Human Sovereignty
Echoes employs multimodal artificial intelligence models to index, transcribe, and structure memory queries. You acknowledge that AI models generate candidate interpretations, and you maintain the sole discretion and responsibility to review, approve, or reject proposed memory facts. Echoes does not warrant that unapproved AI suggestions are infallible historical truth.
5. Service Availability & Export Rights
While Echoes employs fault-tolerant infrastructure and encrypted multi-region storage, we recommend maintaining external offline backups of critical historical heirlooms. You maintain the right to export your complete archive in open, standardized formats at any time.
6. Account Termination
You may terminate your account and purge all stored data at your discretion. Upon termination, all primary cryptographic keys and storage references are scheduled for irrevocable deletion according to our Privacy Policy.
