Our Philosophy & Mission

Memories Should Outlive the Moment

Every year, thousands of family stories, distinctive voices, and historical photographs disappear into forgotten phone albums and obsolete hard drives. We built Echoes to change that.

The Fragility of Oral History

In almost every family, there comes a moment when a realization sets in: the grandmother who knew where everyone was born, the father who remembered the details of the migration, or the mentor who built the neighborhood clinic is no longer here to ask.

We capture gigabytes of fleeting photos and casual video clips, but our archives remain unorganized, ungrounded, and impossible to query. When decades pass, names are forgotten, locations are lost, and the vital context of what truly occurred vanishes.

AI As An Archivist, Not An Author

When generative artificial intelligence arrived, many platforms raced to build chatbots that simulate conversation or write creative prose. But human memories are not creative fiction.

If an AI invents the date of your parents' wedding, fabricates the name of a village, or hallucinates words your grandfather never spoke, it has not assisted you; it has polluted the authenticity of your legacy.

Echoes is built on an opposing conviction: AI must be an objective, evidence-grounded archivist. Its job is to transcribe speech verbatim, extract visual entities carefully, cross-reference verified facts, and always show its citations.

Our Constitutional Principles:
  • • Original artifacts are sacred: Every photo and recording is preserved immutably.
  • • No autonomous truth: AI proposes; the human historian approves.
  • • Absolute sovereignty: Your memories are private, isolated, and never train public models.
